<image:caption>It takes 21 days to create a habit and 90 days to create a lifestyle. Your morning routine sets the tone for the day ahead and I promise it will maximize your productivity, happiness and well-being. First things first, I try not to check my phone when I wake up. I don't even use it as an alarm anymore. I started using my google home mini to wake me up and help organize my day. I love it because I can sync it up with my Google Calendar and I also utilize the family bell schedule feature to organize my day. 1. Drink a glass of water (drinking water on an empty stomach purifies the colon making it easier to absorb nutrients throughout the day) 2. Read the Bible (set a timer for 10 min.) 3. Set my intentions for the day in my journal (set a timer for 10 min.) 4. Walk/Run 1.5 miles at my local track 5. Eat Breakfast (which usually consists of greek yogurt with granola and blueberries) & a bullet coffee. 6. Shower/Meditate (yes I meditate in the shower) I have a seat in my shower so I am able to sit down if need be. I also have some fresh eucalyptus in my shower so the whole situation is a calm and peaceful vibe. 7. Spatial Cleanse (a specific space/area is assigned to each day, so that nothing gets overlooked) (set a timer for 15 min.) 8. Water my plants 9. I sage my work space and say out loud my Space Cleansing Prayer; "My spirit is grounded deep in the earth. I am calm, strong, centered and peaceful. I am able to let go of fear and trust that I am eternally safe. I am worthy of all things beautiful, may blessings from above shower this space" 10. Now, I am ready to start my day!! "Every day is a fresh start, a new opportunity to do whatever your heart desires."</image:caption>

<image:title>Currently Loading Vol. 1 - Transition with/sheyda mehrara</image:title>
<image:caption>Nostalgia. It’s the topic that I come back to often. For a while, I described my personality as melancholic - as if it was a badge of honor - & now I realize there is a direct link between these two concepts. Melancholy is the feeling, nostalgia is the noun that often enables a melancholy state. As humans, we are these temporal creatures who want to unconsciously & consciously fight the temporary nature of life. We think we can somehow be everlasting in these bodies if we hold on tighter, but it’s simply & irrevocably untrue. Ultimately, it is the intrinsic fear of death that feeds the fear of something ending, which enables us to hold onto things, experiences, people longer than the expiration date. We want to relive what was by being overly nostalgic. What we don’t readily realize is that by holding so desperately to what was, we are slowly poisoning ourselves. By holding onto things that no longer are for us, we are doing our journey & those among us a disservice. It keeps us in the melancholy mindset because the nostalgia for what was is a longing for what cannot be. You have to let go. You have to trust that what comes in your life is there for a reason & yet, at the same time, it will always be temporary. It doesn’t make it mean any less. In fact, that very realization deepens your experience & connection. You are able to be present for a part of your journey that is yours to experience to draw you closer to your greater purpose. I wrote this piece in 2018 when I was just at the tip of the iceberg of personal change. A lonely, but necessary point of transition into who I was being called to be by letting go of what I was carrying for far too long. I came back to this passage at the beginning of 2020 when I felt another chapter of transition was upon not just me, but also the collective. Whether you’ve just begun or you needed the reminder, I hope you answer this invitation to forgo the lure of attachment to nostalgia & discover that you will find your superpower by embracing the magic of now. That’s where you’ll find the clues to what you are searching for.</image:caption>

<image:title>Currently Loading Vol. 2 - Note to self with/Jennifer Pauline</image:title>
<image:caption>Image: me in my home office on January 4, a few days after my desk arrived. A reminder that big things start off as little things. 2021 opened with a spirit of hopefulness and expectation. Though mired with a bit of angst, the thought of a new chapter and a new year was salve for the pain, anxiety and loss the last ten months brought. A global pandemic, emotional breakdown, death of a parent, career shift and loss of friendship (shall I continue?) plagued my life during this period of time. There were times when the weight of these experiences completely took my breath away. But looking back and taking a moment to reflect on it all, I’ve been given the gift of 2020 hindsight (pun intended). Reflection is such a powerful and important practice. It allows you to see the totality of a thing, not just one side. For me, this meant that in the midst of a year full of transition, I gained more clarity around my purposes, leaped into my dream work, made new friends and learned how powerful forgiveness of others and self is. It reminded me of an entry I wrote about the dichotomy of life in our January 2020 newsletter: “You want joy? Here’s some pain first. You want peace? Enjoy this chaos. You want love? But first, rejection. You want to grow? Goodbye comfort zone. Biggest lesson learned? When you can stand firm amidst the extremes that life brings, you will never lose your peace. We hope you pause and reflect on your past month, taking a deeper dive into your own experience. To help start this process, we’ve provided some questions below. What patterns am I embracing or letting go of? What relationships are draining me? pouring into me? How did I show up for myself this month? What seeds am I planting today that I can eat from in the next month/year/decade? How was I in service of others this past month and how can I be more of service in the future? Never forget: if you don’t reflect. you will repeat.” I hope this encourages you to take some time and reflect, especially over the past 11 months. Savor each season. Discover the pockets of joy and most importantly learn more about yourself so you can show up better, more whole and more you all 2021 and beyond. With love and gratitude, Jennifer Pauline</image:caption>

<image:caption>The Washington D.C based owner of Grounded Plants, a brand centered around disconnecting and decompressing with plants, shares the routine that keeps her grounded throughout the day. Routine has been a word that I haven’t ever been too comfortable with but as I mature and transition into my late twenties I understand its importance and effectiveness. I’ve found what works for me and have a framework that I can change and manipulate as I please. Having a foundation in all that you pursue is important and I know that if my foundation in my morning routine is solid, then I’ll always stay grounded. 1. I wake up and thank God. I’m always so grateful no matter the circumstance. Full transparency, I sometimes delay waking up depending on how long the previous day is but no matter what I thank God every day. 2. I would say at least 80% of the time I avoid checking my social feeds. I’ll glance at my notifications (texts) and emails, then put my phone down to read or stretch. I’ve been apart of a book club for about a year where we read different fiction novels, but in the morning I love to read non-fiction, self-help/spiritual, leadership, inspo type genres. Sometimes I also read articles in Apple News where my newsfeed is personalized based on about 50+ different topics I’ve selected myself (Futurism, World Events, Finances, Marketing, Plants, Fashion, Food, etc.) Mental stimulation is always important for me. I am a student of life. 3. On the days I don’t read, I’ll complete a Yoga routine for 20 minutes. I love Arianna Elizabeth’s content on YouTube. I don’t always do Yoga, but I’ll do some squats and some light ab work to keep it tight (and save myself from my quarantine binges lol). I definitely miss going to the gym! 4. I hop out of bed, check on my plants, turn on music, burn some palo santo or incense, and shower. I love coming out of the shower into a nice scent. Skincare is most important for me during the week. I’ve never really worn too much makeup to work unless I had plans afterward. I would usually only beat my face on the weekend when going out with my friends BC (before covid). The beat is always better when your skincare routine is on point and I take pride in executing my full skincare routine every morning no matter what. Make sure y’all wear y’all SPF! 5. I get dressed. I have such a founder, Steve Jobs swag to me. Hoodies, jeans/ pants/sweats, new balances, or some type of sneaker. It’s really the same thing every single day in a different color, texture, pattern - especially since we work with plants, there’s a lot of dirt and moving and packing. Some days, I’ll dress business casual if we’re not getting too dirty. 6. Breakfast is light for me. I’ve never really eaten big breakfasts before work so I normally have tea, smoothies, and/or fruit. However, my boyfriend got me a juicer for Christmas so I’ve been juicing every day for about 3 weeks now. It’s absolutely changed my life and I feel so energized. My business partner (and other co-founder of Grounded) Mignon has experience in the industry from previously co-founding a pressed juice company so she’s taught me a few recipes, tips, and tricks. I usually call her around this time to recap our day ahead (and let her know my arrival) because I currently live about 40 minutes away from DC in the suburbs. We always aim to get into the office at 10 am. 7. I drive into work, listen to podcasts/playlists and arrive to our office and start my day!</image:caption>

<image:title>Currently Loading Vol. 2 - reflection with/taylor hunter</image:title>
<image:caption>The old paradigm of our world taught so many of us to look for all of the answers externally when in reality our inner knowledge holds more power than we may truly recognize. Looking inward, trusting ourselves, and taking the space to curiously reflect can enlighten the ways in which we navigate throughout our lives. Over the past year, I have embraced the importance of attentively reflecting with myself on a consistent basis. These moments serve as a way to simply notice my innermost thoughts, beliefs, doubts, and aspirations – nonjudgmentally. Holding a mirror to the inner soul gives way to better understanding and nurturing the complexities that live right beneath the surface of human experiences. I believe that these reflections that flow into the consciousness are the soul’s way of aligning us with the personal instructions that are needed to continue unfolding along our journeys. We cannot find this in any person or anything outside of ourselves. I often find myself jotting down the little thoughts and reflections that randomly cross my mind throughout my day to day life. Sometimes it’s a few sentences and sometimes it’s pages and pages that I did not even realize needed to be written. I have learned to allow these magical words to flow in the way that just feels best. So I ask you - what are your reflections telling you lately? Where are your thoughts leading you? Have you stopped to listen and write them down? The next time a word comes to you simply take a moment and write it down. No thought is too simple or too complex. Listen to your sou and allow it to map out your directions. Here is a shortlist of my latest reflections: 1. Sometimes there is nothing else left to figure out. You just have to let things be. 2. Look around – you are already doing all of the things that you said you wanted to do. 3. When feeling overwhelmed find ways to simplify your life. 4. Taking a moment to stop and ground yourself is never a waste of time. 5. In the grand scheme of things – life is always working in your favor. 6. Do not cling to what you need to let go of. 7. Embrace your inner strangeness and let it shine. 8. You’re never too old to tap into your imagination. 9. There is some lesson to learn in each and every experience. 10. Keep your eyes open every day so that you can see the magic happening in every moment. What would your reflections say?</image:caption>

<image:caption>Image: Me at my first ever personal photoshoot in February 2021. Stepping outside of my comfort zone and updating my brand imagery. When thinking of a topic for March, I started reflecting on my personal journey of self-love. Filled with ebbs and flows, I’ve been on a rocky path that’s included more self-loathing than self-loving (though hard to admit). As I’ve evolved into the 34-year old woman I am today, it’s the quiet moments of stillness and reflection that have helped me recognize my unhealthy patterns. I used to (and sometimes still do) greet every opportunity to expand or claim my bigness with “I’m a background person.” I would choose to allow myself and others feel more comfortable, even if it meant shrinking my voice and my vision. The day that I started accepting all of me, even if it made myself and others uncomfortable, was the day I found true self-love. In this month’s newsletter, I share a note I wrote five months into the pandemic about staying small, the ultimate act of betrayal towards self-love. August 24, 2020 As I was watching Steven Furtik’s sermon Take The Lid Off A Little, I started thinking about all the times I wanted to stay small. ‘Oh no, I’m just a background person’ I would say, as I went on to host and produce dinners, experiences and build communities around the world. ‘I’m not interested in being seen, I only want to be felt’ I would say, as I shrank myself in hopes of becoming invisible. The funny thing was, I built an entire brand that required me to be at the forefront as moderator and host (Fashion for Breakfast LA), but in my mind it was about the guest, not me, about the answers, not the questions. But, as I enter this new season of my life and question everything: my core values, visibility and vision, I started to wonder why do I want to remain small? While I’m a strong believer that it doesn’t have to be a big thing to be an important thing, I also feel deeply that if you want to change anything, you have to stand up, speak up and act up. So, what am I afraid of? The opinions, the judgement, the failure? Yes, of course. But what I’ve come to realize I’m most afraid of is being seen and ultimately being rejected. What are you afraid of? With love and gratitude, Jennifer Pauline</image:caption>

<image:caption>The Los Angeles based owner of Space Blooms, a floral company rooted in culture and inspired by modern day muses, shares her morning routine. My mornings are sacred to me. I like to be intentional with the first few hours of my day because it really sets the tone for whether the day will feel balanced, productive, hectic, or cray cray. I've also taken a liking to calling my mornings "slow mornings," no longer rushing through the motions but taking time to savour and enjoy. The very first thing I do when my alarm goes off at 4:30am is silently state 3 things I'm grateful for. My #1 thing is always having movement in my body, because I wasn't always blessed to have that. Saying these things always provides perspective for me, I name everything no matter how big or small. Next, I complete a quick skin care routine and brush my teeth before heading to the Flower Market. The DTLA Flower Market is my place of solace. I love visiting wholesalers and deepening those relationships, seeing what blooms are in season, and coming up with new ideas for clients. By 6:45am, I am back home and go into the self-care portion of my morning. This is usually when I start blasting my favorite trap and female rap music and get dressed for the day. I currently work from home but still get dressed every single day. Even if it is just a lash and dressing from the waist up, it helps me feel better prepared for the day. When I'm cute, my work is cute! I also have a 10-year old daughter (who is going on 45.) I'll occasionally check in on her routine (which includes blasting Hamilton, while I'm blasting Gucci Mane), do her hair, and make sure she's set for the day. To end my morning routine, I reset my workspace, by burning incense and a candle. I make a matcha latte and breakfast, then pull out one of my vintage black books and read for 20 minutes. I do all of this before even glancing at a work email. I'm finding comfort in serving myself before serving others. Love this quiet moment, it's so simple but feels incredibly luxurious. By 8:30am, I'm logged in and ready to conquer the hotel world! I turn on my favorite podcasts and get to work.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The Los Angeles based co-founder of thoughtfully designed jewelry brands Amarilo and Haati Chai, shares her journey of self-love. It kind of feels like self-love is always a fleeting thought, until one day it smacks you in the face and tells you to get your shit together. At least, that’s how it was for me. I never prioritized it because I didn’t understand it. I’ve heard, “the greatest act of rebellion is loving yourself” and doing so through practice is a lifelong commitment of constantly learning and unlearning with kindness. My self-love journey has just begun, and unlearning self-hatred has been the first step. Self-hate is all around us, it’s comparing ourselves to others, it’s spending time with the wrong people or platforms, it’s obsessing over perfectionism over human acceptance, and prioritizing toxic relationships with others over the relationship you have with yourself. In this day and age, life as we know it does not advocate self love, but rather its own agenda. While things and stuff are prioritized, self-love is forgotten. I’ve experienced small aha moments of self-love through the form of self-care in my life, but the noticeable changing point for me was an onslaught of burnout, anxiety, and depression. By constantly questioning my reality and existence, the state of self-doubt and second guessing became a comfortable, yet perpetual hell. Self-hatred feeds on keeping you small, a whisper of who you are meant to be. Self-love isn’t something taught, it’s learned and practiced everyday. It’s an incredibly messy journey with no end goal. It grows with you. A quick background on me, I am a Korean adoptee. I never really thought about what that meant. I never thought that the nagging insecurities in the back on my head stemmed from identity confusion, but I proudly stifled it. I do love my family and being adopted, but it wasn’t until later I realized removing my background completely from myself was entirely self sabotaging. Self-love was valuing my mental health and my personal journey. I don’t believe I’m capable of fully loving others until I fully understand love for myself. In my future, I will love people with as full of a heart as I love myself. I have been practicing self-love aggressively in the past five years by diving into my identity and my adoption background. Learning about my family and my birth family, meeting my birth mother, my siblings, and learning Korean culture for me is just the start of me piecing my story together with the grace of love. By embracing my entire background, I embrace myself. Self-love comes in simple and complex forms, such as learning to say no, enjoying silence, practicing or learning a hobby, becoming a mother, trusting intuition, being kind to yourself, being taught through grief, being alone, and loving your physical body to name a few. Self-love is not prioritizing perfectionism, but prioritizing humanizing yourself, accepting all aspects of yourself, valuing your mental health, and doing something as simple as treating yourself as you would a friend. Self-love in itself is not just an act of defiance, but the building blocks to resistance of self-hate, and building a better me. So next time someone says I’m selfish, I’ll say thanks.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Image: Outside of The Whitney Museum in New York on my first real trip since March 2020 ‘How the hell is it May?!’ has been on repeat since this month began. Time has flown by and what was once our April newsletter has now become our May newsletter. However, it’s not lost on me that this months theme, self-evolution, is more timely than it’s ever been. My definition of self-evolution is the process of continuously becoming the highest and best version of yourself; without judgement, pressure, or expectations. While this process is very important, I’ve also learned that clinging to it can become an unhealthy attachment. It’s so easy to feel like a failure if you’re still, content or God forbid, complacent. However, one of my treasured sacred readings, the Bible, says to every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Timing and purpose are the companions of growth and evolution. My current season is part evolution and part lesson in what it means to simply be. I’m 8 months into being a founder, entrepreneur and chief purpose officer (as I’ve recently deemed myself). And while my business has accelerated at a pace that I can only describe as divinely orchestrated, I’m learning so much about the power of being. Being still, being authentic, being clear, being intentional, being compassionate and being gentle with myself. Building a brand (With/Creators) while also helping others build theirs (With/Creators the agency) has been the ultimate exercise of balancing doing with being. Yes, wearing many hats is a skill but it is also takes skill to know how to say no, de-prioritize and take mental breaks. Removing the pressure to do everything at once is truly groundbreaking. It may not seem like you’re evolving but you are. You’re getting still for the next phase of evolution. The newsletter will get done, the deck will get finished, the calls will still happen. Evolution is micro, seemingly insignificant shifts that push you deeper into your purpose. And sometimes, evolution is being still and allowing it all to unfold. <image:caption>The Los Angeles based Creative Director of MG Method, podcast host and wellness coach on her experience with self-evolution. I’ve experimented and flirted with many things in blind pursuit to evolve: food, relationships, accolades, depression, anxiety, fashion, distraction, procrastination and even isolation. I will not suggest something new, for the teachings and sentiment of our ancestors, spirit leaders and nature have guided us for years. Deep fulfillment occurs by arriving where you are. Instead I will reflect upon the little things that have held space for evolution. I sit quietly and observe the little gold star girl who had felt petrified after routinely hearing “You need to be just as good, if not better”. She eventually realized that this projection didn’t belong, for she was worthy of taking calculated risks that don’t always end in “wins”. I think about the collegiate athlete who once found herself episodically binge drinking on tabletops at the local University bar and grin as she now reads peacefully on the couch having considered the local farmers market her wild adventure. I think about the woman who commuted from Los Angeles to the Central Valley so she could be by her fathers side as he took his final breaths following his 30+ years of working to never see much of his retirement. I’m comforted knowing her wellness company took place of a 9-5 where she refused to be sold the old American dream. I think about the woman who could only look in the mirror and poke, grab, tuck, and shake every corner of her body in complete horror. The woman who now stands deeply in the understanding that beyond her reflection she is compassion, patience and perspective and this same body has led her through the world and into strength. To embody the power to evolve is to develop gradually, from simple to a more complex form. Self-evolution is grace personified, from the grit of life. It is often in hind sight that we become aware that our pain only pushes us until our vision pulls us. With repeated experiences of openness we learn to trust something infinitely more powerful than any set of rules prescribed by something or someone else: our own being. Evolution happens in little moments when you believe in you, more than you believe in anything else. The power of self-evolution is to make well with what can feel heavy and find light over and over and over again. Our life work is not to change what we do, but to witness what we do with enough awareness, curiosity, and exploration. The truth is, we are never fully evolved, but we are always evolving.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Image: In prep mode for our first event of the year, a retreat gathering in the American Riviera (Santa Barbara, California) Each January, I find myself eager and enthusiastic about what’s to come. New goals, new vision, new ideas, new opportunities. Everything feels fresh and I feel renewed. This year is no different. Though I will say I am more determined than ever to be more clear and more specific about what I want this year to bring. In the past, I’ve set broad visions and goals and this year it’s about granularity. Asking more questions, reflecting on what did and didn’t work the past year, and assessing how I want to feel (hello, goals with souls). Being a second-time entrepreneur, entering into my second full year of business, last year was filled with lessons and learnings. Life was life-ing okkkk? I found myself with less time than ever. Exhausted, uncertain, grateful, joyful, overwhelmed, and on an emotional rollercoaster that I couldn’t get off of. Yes, it is possible to be grateful and overwhelmed simultaneously. Looking back, I can identify the moments when fear beat trust and when overwhelm swallowed gratitude. So I’ve made it my mission this year to prioritize boundaries, create unbreakable systems, manage my time better, assess the intentions of myself, my team, potential, and existing clients, plus add breaks into my calendar/schedule. I’m also creating personal and work to-do lists so I feel accomplished in taking care of myself while taking care of others. This means building my personal schedule out a month in advance. Acupuncture, personal training sessions, facials, walks, meditation, reading, etc. They all live in my calendar and the rest of my life is built around these critical self-care activities. I don’t expect this year to be perfect, but I do expect myself to be more grounded and rested as I grow into the woman that I’ve been called to become. My agency’s motto is ‘fueled by service’, but I can’t forget to fuel myself so that I can serve from a place of excellence and not exhaustion. <image:caption>The Detroit based wellness entrepreneur, Erin Juliana, shares her peaceful morning routine. I’m a meditation teacher, mindfulness consultant, and wellness entrepreneur so each day looks different. On days I don’t have morning sessions, I’ve been blessed enough to be able to create a life that allows me to prioritize stillness and take my time to actively pour into myself. This is what my day looks like when I don’t have any in-person morning sessions! 7:30 wake up naturally go downstairs to use the bathroom and take a few breaths 7:38-8:15 go to my comfy corner, the area on the floor to the right to my window. The corner is full of pillows, my sound bowl, flowers, and my journal. I started reading “The Artist’s Way” and was required to do morning pages daily, so I write three pages of a “meditative brain dump.” 8:15-8:45 open the windows, drink some water, and light incense. 8:45-9:30 I turn some upbeat music on to get my energy up and have a dance party. I try to not listen to rap before noon. 9:30-9:50 get in the shower, adding a few drops of lemongrass essential oil to the water to add a spa-like feel to wake me up and increase my energy and mood 10 start my day professionally by looking at my emails and to-do list 10:30-10:55 make breakfast</image:caption>

<image:title>Currently Loading Vol. 5 - The Power of Clear Vision With/Arielle V. and KristIN Jones</image:title>
<image:caption>Los Angeles based, Arielle Vavasseur and Kristin Jones are best friends who co-founded Inside Projects in 2018. Over their decade-plus friendship, they have spent thousands of hours not only working but talking about personal growth and how living a life led by values brings us all closer to purposes, passion and fulfillment. What methods help you create clarity in your daily routine? AV: Practicing mindfulness and working out are probably the two most helpful gateways to clarity for me. Most mornings I read a chapter from a book called Peace Is Every Step by Thich Nhat Hanh. The main idea is that peace is available to you at any moment. The chapters are really short and super simple so it has really become a form of meditation. Working out consistently with a trainer is new for me and it has really changed my life. It just brings me back to center where I can get really clear with myself about what I need and what I can offer. KJ: Keeping it simple has been a game-changer for me. I used to be overly ambitious with what I thought I could accomplish in a day, and as a result, my daily routine was unnecessarily complicated and therefore super inconsistent. Over the past four months, I've started to focus on a basic morning routine that gives me the mental space I need to navigate my days and goals. I start every day - even my weekends - with 20 minutes of transcendental meditation (TM) followed by 20 minutes of freewriting. It's pretty wild how grounded these two practices leave me and how effective they are in helping me sustain my clarity all day long. What value does clarity hold in your personal and professional life? AV + KJ: Clarity is one of the most important things we value in our personal and professional lives because it gives us meaningful direction. We’ve known each other for a long time and would be lying if we said we have always had the clarity we have today. But what we have always had is a mutual commitment to evolving into the best version of ourselves. In 2017 we spent a lot of time reflecting internally to identify the people, beliefs, values, and ideas that matter most to us. The minute we could identify what we cared about, we naturally began to think creatively about what it would look like to pursue these priorities in our daily lives. Our agency, Inside Projects, is an excellent example of how this type of alignment can manifest itself because IP is truly the professional extension of one of our (many) shared personal beliefs -- that amplifying the voices and passions of communities and community members is essential. How does clarity aid in your self care practices? AV: Self care for me has not only been about trendy rituals, but it has really been about clear boundaries. I enjoy being in service to other people, especially people I love. But to be in service, I’ve learned that I have to prioritize knowing my limits so that I can preserve the best version of myself. When I have clear boundaries, I can create space for myself within myself, which, for me, is the ultimate self-care practice. KJ: Clarity keeps me grounded, so when I'm lacking it, I don't always properly assess what my needs are, and I end up confusing distractions for meaningful nourishment (like heading to happy hour when what I needed was to see if my therapist was available for an evening session).</image:caption>

<image:title>Currently Loading - Note to self with/Jennifer Pauline</image:title>
<image:caption>Image: Studio Visit with LCD (read the story here) I only have one word for the month of March: full. Full calendar, full client list, full mind, full spirit, just FULL. What started out as me at home with COVID, ended with me in Charlotte, North Carolina for the International Leadership Summit presented by T.D. Jakes. If this season had a title, it would be “it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.” I’m sure you’re wondering what happened after COVID and before the summit. I’ll try to keep it brief, but in short, ithe most profitable and profound 16 days I’ve had since starting my business. We partnered back up with Hillman Grad Productions, the brainchild of Lena Waithe, to design and produce their mentorship lab week. We worked with them in their inaugural year and are stoked to welcome in their sophomore class. We’re so blessed to work with incredible brands and on exciting projects, but this program holds a place very close to my heart. They are quite literally creating pathways into the entertainment industry for underrepresented groups. If you don’t know much about this space, it’s homogenous in front of and behind the camera, and organizations like Hillman Grad are helping break down the barrier of entry. I love a good fact, so if you can spare the time look at this Hollywood Diversity Report by Dr. Darnell Hunt (and be shook). Our work with HGML is to design the experiences around welcoming the mentees to the program through an immersive weekend twice a year, ending with a talent showcase in front of the top managers, agents, studios and more. Watching the students evolve from day one to graduation last year was a business highlight for sure. In the midst of planning that, we were also in full production mode for our biggest experience ever, with BYREDO. For part two of this newly formed relationship (s/o to my friend Samira for referring us) we were tasked with bringing to life their latest launch, De Los Santos. It took a village. Hundreds of emails, daily calls, an absurd amount of text messages, multiple renderings, lots of pivots and one big vision. Honestly, I’m still sitting in this feeling of awe that we accomplished such a feat. A global launch for a global luxury brand and I was still able to maintain my core intention of creating opportunities for underrepresented creators. Our principals on production, design, food and floral installation were Black and Brown women. The venue was owned by an Asian woman and our teams reflected that. A vision realized. And, in between all of this we curated and produced a women’s empowerment dinner for The Gathering Spot LA and Jordan. The way my tribe showed up, were vulnerable, and made time for this space was so refreshing. Time is the most precious gift and being given there’s means more than they’ll ever know. So much for this being short but like I said, March was full. A seed was planted in 2020 to start this business and I’ve been watering it everyday. I’m not only proud of how we’ve grown client and project-wise, but internally as well. From a one person team in 2020 to a 6 person team today, it takes a team to keep this machine going. Today, you’ll meet the women helping fuel With/Creators. I am grateful. With love and intention, Jennifer</image:caption>

<image:caption>Brittany Chung is a quirky lover of the brain and human communication. When she is not serving as the Community Operations Manager at With Creators she can be found running Elevation Society, a nonprofit focused on improving mental wellness, and breaking stigmas. Wake up around 6 AM naturally haven’t figured out how but currently it just happens. Take a moment to check in with myself some of the questions I ask myself are: What am I feeling? What’s consuming my thoughts? (unpack it) How in charge do I feel over my life? Journal - write down one thing I am grateful for, one thing I love about myself, one intention for the day, lately it has been to get out of my own head, learn how to value myself, and remind myself this life is not my own. In other words, this life is so much bigger than me, and I can not afford to take my success nor failures personal. Drink a cup of water. Here is why. Visualize my goals - visualize the details, visualize accomplishing the actual goals, visualize my feelings once they are accomplished, etc. Create a to-do list and prioritize accordingly - I have a tendency to try to do a million things in one day so I am disciplining myself to choose one big task that I must complete and then 3-4 smaller ones to potentially work on if I have time. Within this past year I have lost both of my grandpas so I try to do something that makes me feel closer to them. Currently I spend about 15-20 mins playing the guitar and then every day learn a new phrase in Japanese. 愛を広める Workout - I am really into Lagree at the moment but also a cute running moment. Create a collagen, sea moss, spinach and fruit smoothie that also features chia seeds, hemp seeds, spirulina occasionally some ashwagandha roots and whatever else I am craving. Then start working with the best team ever at With/Creators :)</image:caption>

<image:caption>Amber Melvisha, Project Manager and Saybin Roberson (R), Special Projects Manager hail from Inglewood and Detroit, respectively. Passionate about creativity and service they are emerging leaders in the community space. What is joy to you? AM - Joy to me is being present and enjoying the moment. Finding happiness in the little things. SR - Joy is love. I can find joy in nearly everything that I love. My favorite meal, my favorite movie or TV show, my friends and my family. Taking care of, being around, spending time with, giving to these things or people is joy to me. I think the sun is joy, music is joy, the ocean, even a good shower is joyful. Joy is movement, it’s laughter, it’s dancing. Anything that makes me feel free is joy. Anything and everything that makes me feel God is joy. In what ways do you aim to seek joy and pleasure each day? AM - Starting off my day with prayer and gratitude help me set the tone for the day and find joy in all things around me. Taking walks with my dog help me seek pleasure in the world around me . What value do you place on seeking new experiences, why? SR - New experiences have made me who I am today. Certain trips stand out, like my time in Atlanta, Iowa or Florida as a kid, and Cape Town right after graduating college, and even my time at college in D.C. It’s very easy, especially where I’m from ( a small town outside of Detroit) to get caught up in what we know and find comfort in. I love it, but I’m always looking for a way to renew. I get laughed at for saying “I’m new in town” after leaving Los Angeles and moving back home a few months ago. I have to experience this place in a new way to continue growing my perspective. Women's History Month just passed, describe what it means to you to be a woman, working with other women? SR - EVERYTHING. I believe there is nothing better than to see yourself in other people, working with other women allows that for me. As a woman, which I feel is an honor in itself, I am able to learn how to powerfully and gracefully move into any space and room, while keeping my femininity. I’m able to nurture and grow parts of myself because I am learning from the lived experiences of other women. It literally means everything to me.</image:caption>
